Today Is My Birthday… But Wait! There’s More!
One year ago, I left my career job in the music business- 16 years with the same company.
It was a years long, great desire of mine to leave the music business but the timing in which I left was not something that was in my control.
Thankfully, the universe kicked me in my gauchos and announced, “Time’s UP!
Over this past year there has been a lot of letting go and leaving behind of old things, and a lot of stepping into new things.
So many milestones and opportunities have taken place over this past one-year period that it’s hard to put them all together in my mind in a cohesive way and right now I won’t attempt to do that.
Instead, right now I want to tell you about today.
Today is my birthday.
I’m 53 years old today.
Today, marks four years, five months and three weeks since I last drank alcohol.
And today, my publisher, Heather Felty at Inner Peace Press, let me know that the book idea I pitched to her last February, the book that I wrote an essay in, as well as the preface for- that book was delivered to my front door-step.
Today.
The book is called, My Last Hangover and I share the pages of this book with nine other amazing women and one amazing man.
I’m so deeply proud of this accomplishment and I have to admit- it’s super fun that the universe had this delivered to my door on my birthday…
And today, on my birthday, you can order your very own copy to have and to hold!
It is VERY affordably priced at $18.99 +shipping.
A little about this book…
In this book you’ll read 11 stories of return. Return to living. Return from the darkness of dependency and addiction as told by the people who walked the road. The 11 contributors in this book talk about the circumstances that led up to their point of choosing recovery and why it was so important for them to remain in recovery today.
For the many, many people who keep waking up to what seem like endless Day 1s but who also know they want a change and so they keep trying – this book is for you.
This book is for the sober-curious. It’s for those who are receiving external or intuitive messages that tell them it’s time for a shift but don’t know where to begin.
This book is for anyone who loves someone who is struggling or has struggled with dependency or addiction. Perhaps this book can offer new perspectives and open the doors to empathy and compassion and a better understanding of addiction and alcohol use disorder.
…thank you to everyone who has loved, supported and encouraged me along the road- and there are a lot of you - thank you...
